New Year 2025

The beginning of a new year is just days away. And we will find ourselves once again boarding a journey for a new year to come. But before we look forward, it is a worthy exercise to look back and realize the many times that God had gone before us, stood beside us and faithfully guided us through whatever it was that landed in our lives.

For our family, especially this year, with my husband being diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer, I don’t think that I have ever been so deeply blessed, as I have been this year. From the beginning of this diagnosis, we depended on God to guide us through prayers, and we faithfully put our faith in God’s presence, his plans, his continuous oversight and HIS faithfulness. And throughout this journey we have experienced not only God’s love but support and prayerful love and support you and from precious prayer warriors, some we didn’t even know.

The more trust we have in Christ, the more peace he gives us in circumstances that are beyond our understanding and our control. We all have experienced challenges that have been handed down to us, but with each challenge comes a choice; do I trust God during it, knowing that he is all knowing and all loving and will be with us to help us comfort us and guide us along the way, or try to navigate the unknown on our own.

For all of us, God has blessed us and shown up in our darkest times as well as celebrated with us when our greatest joys have been revealed. There were times this year that I expect things did not go as you or I had planned but God, as he has promised, never leaves us and continues to be our shield and help in times of trouble.

Looking forward, as this new year brings about new adventures, may we rejoice and find little treasures along our way. May we seek God’s guidance and find joy on cloudy days and take time to laugh and lightly glide through each new day, just being grateful that God has given us this day. And have some fun!

As a side note, I always play a little game with my family on Christmas and ask aquestion that each one answers. I used to think they approached the game with a sigh but now I think they kind of look forward to it. This year I passed around a bowl of alphabet letters… each family member drawing one. This was a twofold game: first since it was Jesus’ birthday, they were to come up with an adjective describing Jesus beginning with the letter they chose, and second was to share one thing that you would like to work on to be better at this year. The answers were thoughtful and fun, and I loved getting to get a peek into their hearts.

So, I ask you the same thing… just take a few minutes to think of adjectives that describe Christ and then think of something that you would like to be better at this year. … than ask God to help you manage that desire.

“God Has Got This” is a worthy banner to fly high on your heart , and above your circumstances. For God always has his hand on all things and his grace overflows. .Our family has stood on this truth. Remember, There is nothing, no nothing that God allows to come to us, before us, or upon us without it being his orchestrated plan. It is forged by his faithfulness and loving desire to help us to trust him more and come closer to him daily. May Christ bring His light and freshness to your path and mine this coming NEW year and let us look recognize and appreciate the blessings that he sprinkles along our way.

Let this year be one of your greatest… for you are loved and adored by God and if you stand on that one foundation alone, you will find that he will keep you steady and your hearts will be guarded from the many distractions that the world offers.

Happy New Year… may it be filled with God’s abundant blessings!
Psalm 65:11 You crown the year with Your goodness; Your ways overflow with plenty.

Praise God wherever you are and whatever situation He has allowed you to be in . . . His glory will shine through!
